"Introduction to the Science of Subtle Energy for Exercise Professionals"

Open to the public: June 20-22 is our "Introduction to the Science of Subtle Energy for Exercise Professionals" with Teresa Thompkins of Equilibrium Wellness in Toano, VA. who has studied and worked with the field of Energy Medicine for over 20 years in her MAT, Pilates, and ACSM Personal Training Business. Friday 5:00pm-9:00pm, Saturday 9:00am-5:00pm, and Sunday 9:00am-1:00pm Objective: This course will be a survey course/introduction to the Science of Subtle Energy, i.e. Energy Medicine, Energy Psychology, Energy Fields, Auras, Chi, Biofields, Meridian Theory, sound healing, Bach Flowers, Homeopathy, 5 Element Theory, crystals and of course Chakras. Is the energy of quantum physics the same as that of the Mystic, the Energy worker, the Kung Fu Master, the Holistic Healer and the Shaman? Is there any actual science or is it all hocus pocus malarkey? If belief can drive biology does it matter what?s evidenced by science? As science develops should the ancient rituals drop away or are the rituals essential? At minimum, a cursory knowledge of these fields is essential for all exercise professionals because your clients will be seeing Energy workers and alternative practitioners and you need to know how that might affect their body-mind matrix. As a trusted advisor it?s always a plus to bring the science to the client ? if it exists and let them know if it doesn?t. What if there were techniques that would enhance your clients? results, sports performance and general wellbeing that you could easily incorporate into your sessions? Would you want to use them? We will look at several techniques used by successful athletes and try to determine validity and usefulness. As a Yoga professional, you certainly realize that Yoga began as a spiritual practice: ritual exercise for inner peace, union with the divine, experiencing one?s true self, transcendence and of course healing. Poses are often used to strengthen and balance Chakras. Is there any proof that Chakras even exist? How else might one find them or affect them? Let?s explore these questions and learn how different indigenous peoples experienced and worked with Chakras. Class time will be divided between lecture, discussion and learning and practicing several energy work techniques. I promise science, logic, ritual, mysticism and fun. You will also have a required homework project. Recommended Texts: There are many great authors: Caroline Myss, Bruce Lipton, Gregg Braden, Amit Goswami,?? But let?s not get overwhelmed. The Subtle Body: An Encyclopedia of Your Energetic Anatomy by Cyndi Dale Shaman, Healer, Sage: How to Heal Yourself and Others with the Energy Medicine of the Americas by Alberto Villoldo, Ph.D. Only $395 for this AMAZING unique workshop. Approved by Yoga Alliance for those who are already an RYT registered yoga teacher or who are pursuing their 500 hour.
