Cinema Saturday: The Miracle Worker (1962)
On the second Saturday of each month during the summer, we screen a movie from our collection. All movies are audio-described for the blind and feature an important character who is blind or visually-impaired.
Patty Duke stars with Anne Bancroft, in the first film adaptation of William Gibson’s play, “The Miracle Worker.” Duke plays the young Helen Keller, who later became one of the most powerful voices for human rights in the twentieth century. This film is Unrated. Due to the physical nature of the struggle between Annie Sullivan and Helen Keller in certain scenes, parental guidance is suggested.
