Event Description:
Inspire is geared at women will feature four successful businesswomen sharing their story (but men are welcome). One speaker per quarter.
The program will consist of:
Our Speaker for this program will be Kelly Lepley, an international pilot for UPS and the first transgender pilot at UPS. Kelly has been flying for over thirty years, everything from small single engine planes to the largest cargo aircraft at UPS. During that time she worked hard to find a work/life balance but found she put her career over her personal journey quite a bit. While she was very successful, those successes did not compensate for her struggle with her identity as a trans woman, which she hid for over 40 years.
In 2009 Kelly made the decision to tackle that challenge head on, which cost her home, marriage, retirement and ostracized her from members of her church. The world she knew was no longer there, coming to that relaity her faith deepened and heart softened which prompted her to speak out on remaining true to yourself.
Her journey led her to do a TED Talk and since then she has spoken to audiences all around North America.
You can see her TED Talk here: https://www.ted.com/talks/kelly_lepley_why_being_your_true_self_is_the_most_selfless_act

- Breakfast
- Acknowledging Sponors
